Hola Reader
The Sevillanas is an iconic dance that we dance a lot in Sevilla.
But when I first started learning the Sevillanas, I felt completely like an octopus. 🐙 ie. my arms were all over the place!
But fast forward, and I'm comfortable in my own skin (and arms now)! 😄
In my latest video, I’ll take you inside Seville’s April Fair where we dance Sevillanas.
And here's what's special about it:
Your expressive arms, your posture, how you carry yourself - it all projects your charisma and personality into a live, social setting that's all about human connection
Imagine you're in your long beautiful 'traje de flamenca' dress.
Your feet carry the rhythmic foundation. That's very important
BUT what people actually notice is your upper body.
It highlights you!
Your elegance, your joy and your confidence.
It's what draws people to you In a crowded, festive caseta (tent)
That's why spending time on your arm technique is so worth the effort! 'Vale la Pena'
In my full video, I share the foundational tips on how to move and express your arms.
And I take you beyond the studio, into the Feria de Abril. So that you can see how Sevillanas is actually lived and danced in Spain
Un abrazo,
🌹 Tania
