I prompt my students to plant the seeds of aspiration that would bring them joy, set aside 'me-time' to care for what they love to do, and make happen.
That way, this self-awareness helps anchors them (before the river current of modern world sweeps their time and energy away)
In this first newsletter of 2026:

Sevillanas
For higher beginners new to this.
OR, For those with more experience wanting a refresher, or to learn to dance Sevillanas with fan or Spanish shawl mantón.
The culture of what we dance
Sevllanas is the dance of the South. We dance it a lot in Sevilla!
Especially at the greatest outdoor party, called the Feria de Abril where you'll see ladies dress in lovely colourful dresses, guys in their smart suits, horses, carriages, eating and drinking!
It's the quintessential dance you should know! And you can dance with anyone in Spain or in the world after that!
👉 Head over to my Class page (link below) and you see the videos.
Build dance foundation, style & tech and enjoy a little piece of choreography at the end of the class, which we build up to a full choreography - Asturias!

Flamenco Intermediate (La Caña with Spanish shawl, Mantón)
The Caña is one of my favourite flamenco songs with its beautiful melodies. It feels grand with its stately pace.
I'm teaching a choreography that I learnt from our maestro, Manuel Betanzos, when I was in Spain, and also when we toured to Taiwan. This version I'm teaching has the Spanish shawl mantón in the dance, so you also get to work your mantón style and technique.
