There are so many Spanish activities and flamenco happening this January. I hope you're catching some of it, really!

Week #1 - This past weekend at Esplanade Theatre: 8 shows by the Singapore Flamenco community and from Spain, the famous Compañia Sara Baras ignited the hall.

Week #2 - THIS COMING SATURDAY 18 JANUARY, the action continues! This time, we bring you flamenco lifestyle workshops.

If you’ve wanted to try out flamenco, here’s your chance to do so!

I’ll be teaching 3 flamenco dance workshops for all ages.

These once-off sessions are great for having fun and exploring this Spanish dance style.

Flamenco Weekends at Esplanade!

Last weekend's project had a number of first - the first Flamenco Open Call in Singapore with 6 shows I curated in collaboration with the fantastic Esplanade Theatre team.

I also wanted to present for the first time in Singapore, the concept of 'Por Fiesta Flamenco' improvisation. Different from staged theatre shows, por fiesta is part of flamenco culture and our way of life (we celebrate with food, drinks, dance & music). Audiences in Singapore don't get to experience this, unless an insider takes them to a flamenco party.

For this project, I knew I had to invite a top-class team who have the skills to accompany flamenco improvisation - on this occasion, Mercedes Cortés (singer) and Jordi Flores (guitarist) from Sevilla.

I will be rounding up the action in this diary series. But meanwhile, you can catch some of it in my Facebook group.
